Swan Lake for Sketch Challenge #72 at Craft Project Central

I finally had some time to complete the Creating Pretty Cards Challenge for June at Craft Project Central. There is still one more day to enter this challenge for a chance to win a one month subscription to the site.

I had a little bit of trouble with this sketch, trying a couple different backgrounds and also some washi tape in place of the Lemon Lime Twist strips. But I finally settled on this combination and am happy with the results.

Here is my card:

And here is the sketch that inspired my card:

Creating Pretty Cards Sketch Challenge at Craft Project Central | June 2017

This is my first time inking up Swan Lake, mainly because I haven’t been quite sure what to do with it. It is definitely not the most popular set in the catalog, and there are not many samples out there. But the main swan image fit nicely in the middle part of the sketch, which is what made me think to use this set.

I created my background by using one of the images from the set, stamping off once with Lemon Lime Twist. The little dragonflies are stamped in Archival Black ink, colored with Pool Party and then fussy cut. The rest was pretty simple to put together once I decided which color to use where. My color choice came from the challenge this week at the Global Design Project.

Be sure to head over there as well to check out the amazing project by the design team as well as all the other entries.

Thanks Natalie! I think “Clean” might be my secret middle name. When making cards that is – definitely not housework! LOL!
